Williams Syndrome Awareness Week 2012
More than 6500 people across the country "Walked for Williams" on May 14, 2011 to raise awareness for Williams syndrome. Forty-Six walks in 30 states and cities including New York, St. Louis, St. Petersburg, San Diego and Dallas participated in the Second Annual Williams Syndrome Awareness Week from May 9-15. Governor Cuomo of New York sponsored a Resolution to honor Awareness Week and the WSA, and Congressman Gary Peters (MI - 9) introduced a similar resolution on the floor of the House of Representatives. The Bill was co-sponsored by Representatives Roscoe Bartlett (D-MD), Barbara Lee (D-CA), and Bill Young (R-FL)
