We are thrilled to offer the Adventure Seekers (adults with Williams syndrome 18+) an opportunity to get together in person! See below for Frequently Asked Questions related to the trip. What are the dates of the trip? Our Adventure Seekers Reunion Plus One trip will be held Thursday, October 28 - Sunday, October 31 in Nashville, Tennessee. Where are we staying? Here's everything you need to know about the hotel: Hampton Inn & Suites Nashville, Opryland 230 Rudy Circle Nashville, Tennessee 37214 Two Queen Beds, $159 a night plus taxes/service Free parking at the hotel Click here to make your hotel reservation. Are there special guidelines for the weekend regarding vaccinations and masks? In keeping with the CDC guidelines and recommendations from our WS medical advisors, we hope that everyone coming will be vaccinated and that masks are not required. However, we know that vaccination is a personal choice, and there may also be medical circumstances that make vaccination ill-advised for some. We strongly encourage everyone who is not vaccinated to follow CDC guidelines for masking and social distancing at all times. What does it mean that this trip is "plus one"?This trip is a Plus One trip - each individual must be accompanied by at least one adult chaperone (parent/caretaker, adult sibling, staff, etc). Your chaperone will be responsible for organizing travel, transportation, hotel booking, oversight, etc. This trip will look more like a joint vacation with your WS family. There will be no exceptions for unaccompanied travelers. Can an adult chaperone more than one Adventure Seeker?Yes, but the caretaker must be responsible for those individuals at all times during the weekend. We do not encourage one adult to take responsibility for more than two attendees. Will the group be doing activities together? We will host an informal meet and greet on the evening of 10/28. Group tickets for optional activities have been arranged with the Grand Ole Opry for Friday night 10/29, and General Jackson Showboat for mid-day Saturday 10/30. More details and pricing for the optional shows will be available during the registration process. What do they serve for the meal aboard the General Jackson?Click here for the full menu. They also accommodate gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian guests by just telling your server on arrival. In addition, we have made special arrangements for those that would prefer to substitute the regular menu for chicken finger's, fries, a cookie those that require something simpler (arrangements need to be made in advance for the substitution, contact Jennifer at the WSA.) Is there a lottery? No, everyone who registers, is welcome! What are the fees? There will be a small registration fee of $15 per person to help cover the costs of the meet and greet, name tags, etc. Optional ticketed events/entertainment will be at your discretion. Is there transportation? The WSA is not providing transportation. If you are driving, parking is free at the hotel. Are there events/outing that will be just for the Adventure Seekers without their parent/chaperone?No, we are not planning any excursions separate from your parent/chaperone. How can we connect with other families that are attending, prior to arrival?Once registration is complete, we will set up a Facebook group for the trip. It will be a great way to learn who is coming and to plan adventures together in advance. Was the form I completed requesting more information a registration form? No. The form was to gauge interest, get an estimated number of attendees, and compile an email list for details moving forward. Use this link to register for the trip. How do I register for the trip?Simply click this link to register for the trip! Who needs to register for the trip? Both the Adventure Seeker AND the chaperone(s) MUST register for the event.
