Laurie Fundukian

Communications Associate

Laurie joined WSA in October, 2016, having previously worked for the Council of Michigan Foundations in communications and for an academic publisher as a writer and editor, and was excited to support WSA’s important work. She has always been an avid volunteer and supporter of good causes such as mentoring and tutoring at-risk children, helping the homeless with a micro-entrepreneurial project, and ushering for local theaters and the symphony, as she is a huge lover of the arts (she plays piano, has performed in many theater productions, and continues to sing). Laurie enjoys travelling, hiking and biking in Michigan, North Carolina and more, and can be found in the pool for most of our short summers. She also teaches English and communications at the college level, where she enjoys interacting with students of all ages and helping them realize their potential as she continues to learn and grow herself, especially from the people and families of WSA.
