Dr. Tom Collins and Dr. Leslie Smoot
Discussion about the diagnosis and treatment of QTc Prolongation with Dr. Tom Collins and Dr. Leslie Smoot. Structural cardiovascular abnormalities occur in 80% of patients with Williams syndrome (WS). The risk of sudden death in patients with WS is significantly higher than the general population. Patients with WS often undergo electrocardiograms (ECGs) and recent research has shown that the QTc interval in WS patients is significantly prolonged. This finding may contribute to the increased risk of sudden death.
